Business email

Business email on your own domain: you@yourbusiness.nl

With business email on your own domain, you send from you@yourbusiness.nl instead of a free Gmail or Hotmail address. I arrange the mailbox and set up the technical settings that help keep your email out of spam folders. Rather keep your current email? That's fine too.

What you get

  • A mailbox on your own domain, for example you@yourbusiness.nl
  • Webmail, so you can get to your email in any browser
  • Email on your phone and computer
  • A spam filter
  • Forwarding to another address
  • An out-of-office reply, for example when you're on holiday
  • A mail provider with servers in the EU
  • Setting up the DNS for your email, including SPF, DKIM and DMARC

Not included

  • Moving your old email from another provider. That's possible at my hourly rate of €95.
  • Help with your own devices or email program.
  • Separate backups of your email.
  • Bulk mailings and newsletters.
  • Storage or sending above the mail provider's limits.

Exactly what is and is not included is set out in the terms.

Who it's for

You email from Gmail or Hotmail now

An address on your own domain looks more professional. Customers see straight away which business the email comes from.

You're getting a new website

I arrange your website and your email in one go, and set up the DNS properly for both.

You only need email

No office suite with online documents and video calls, just a good mailbox. Then you only pay for that.

Why business email on your own domain?

An email from info@yourbusiness.nl inspires more trust than one from a free address. Customers see straight away who it's from, and your address matches your website.

There's another advantage. Your domain name is yours and registered in your name, whether it sits with your own provider or is managed by me. If you ever move to another mail provider, you simply take your address with you. With a free address, you can't.

No domain name yet? I register one for you, in your name, for €25 per domain per year. That comes alongside Hosting or Care. How I look after your domain and your site from then on is explained under hosting and maintenance.

SPF, DKIM and DMARC: keeping your email out of spam

The mail servers that receive your email, such as Gmail's and Outlook's, check whether an email really comes from you. To do that, they look at a few settings in your domain's DNS. DNS is the address book of the internet: it says where your website lives and where your email should go.

SPF is a list of servers that may send email on behalf of your domain. DKIM is a digital signature on every email. It lets the recipient see that the email really comes from your domain and wasn't changed along the way. DMARC tells the recipient what to do with an email that fails those checks, for example reject it.

Without these settings, your email ends up in spam more easily. And others can more easily send email that seems to come from you. I set up all three, and that's included in the price. Nobody can guarantee that every email arrives, but without these settings you start at a disadvantage.

Keeping your current email is fine too

Already have email on your domain and happy with it? Then keep it. When I set up the DNS for your new website, your existing email keeps working. So you don't have to switch just because of a website.

Do you work a lot with shared documents, spreadsheets, video calls or a shared calendar? Then Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 may suit you better. You get a whole office suite, with its own price per user. You sign up for that yourself. When I set up your DNS once, I include the settings for that email.

A mailbox from me is mainly useful if you just want good email, without an office suite, and prefer to arrange everything with one point of contact.

Costs, cancelling and what it's not for

A mailbox costs €5 per mailbox per month. You pay monthly in advance and can cancel monthly, with one month's notice. All prices are on the pricing page.

If you stop using a mailbox, move your email in good time. After the end date, the mailbox and its contents are deleted.

The mailbox is for normal business use. You don't send bulk mailings or newsletters with it, and the mail provider's storage and sending limits apply. Want to send newsletters? Take a look at a newsletter on your website.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose your addresses

You tell me how many mailboxes you want and which addresses, for example info@ or your own name.

  2. 2

    Create the mailboxes

I create the mailboxes with the mail provider.

  3. 3

    Set up the DNS

I add the settings for your email to your DNS, including SPF, DKIM and DMARC. You give me access to your domain, or you make the changes yourself following my instructions.

  4. 4

    Get started

You get your login details and the settings for your phone and computer. Webmail works straight away in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to switch if I already have email?

No. When I set up the DNS for your website, your existing email keeps working. A mailbox from me is an option, not an obligation.

What are SPF, DKIM and DMARC, in short?

Three settings in your DNS that let recipients check whether an email really comes from you. They help keep your email out of spam and make it harder to fake email in your name.

Can I bring my old email with me?

Yes. I move your old email over from your previous provider, at my hourly rate of €95. You'll hear beforehand roughly how much time it takes.

Isn't Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 better?

If you use their office apps, it may well be. If you only need email, a standalone mailbox is simpler. Both work with your own domain.

What happens when I cancel?

You cancel monthly, with one month's notice. Move your email in good time, because after the end date the mailbox and its contents are deleted.
