A small webshop with iDEAL, built into your website
Selling a small range of products? Then a small webshop inside your own website may be all you need, with customers paying by iDEAL and other methods. I'll also tell you honestly when a platform like Shopify is the better choice.
What you get
- A quote to fit, so you know the cost up front
- Product pages with photos, description and price
- A shopping basket and a clear checkout page
- Payment by iDEAL and other methods through a payment provider such as Mollie
- A confirmation email to your customer and a notification of every order to you
- Test orders before the shop opens
Not included
- The payment provider's transaction fees. You pay those directly to them.
- Your terms and conditions, returns policy and privacy statement for the shop. If you sell to consumers, rules such as the right of withdrawal apply.
- Shipping, stock and customer service. You handle those.
- Links with your accounting software, shipping labels or marketplaces such as bol, unless they are in the quote.
- Product photos and product descriptions for a large range, unless they are in the quote.
Exactly what is and is not included is set out in the terms.
Who it's for
A small range
You sell a handful of products, such as books or gift vouchers, and don't want a separate shop platform.
Trainers and organisers
You want to sell tickets for workshops or training sessions, with payment straight away when people sign up.
Makers and small businesses
You want your shop and your website to be one whole, on the same domain.
Who is a small webshop for?
Not every shop needs to be big. If you sell a handful of products, tickets for your workshops or gift vouchers, a small webshop inside your own website is often enough. I build the shop as part of your site: the same fast technology, the same look and the same domain.
There are two ways to change products and prices. With your own content editor (CMS), as in Business Plus, you do it yourself. We then include that in the quote. Without a content editor, I make the changes for you.
Paying by iDEAL and other methods
For payments I work with a payment provider such as Mollie. A payment provider is a company that processes payments securely and transfers the money to your account. Your customer chooses iDEAL, or another method the payment provider offers, such as a credit card.
You open an account with the payment provider yourself, in your business's name. That way the money comes straight to you and you pay the transaction fees directly to them. I connect your account to your shop and we test the payments before the shop opens. After a payment, your customer gets a confirmation and you get a notification of the order.
A small webshop or Shopify?
To be fair: for many shops a platform like Shopify is the better choice. Do you have lots of products in different sizes and colours, do you also sell through marketplaces or social media, or do you want to change everything yourself every day with extra apps? Then you get a lot ready-made there.
A small webshop in your own site fits better when your range is small and easy to oversee, and when the shop is part of your story rather than the main event.
Not sure? We'll work it out together in the intro call. If Shopify fits better, I'll say so. Your website can still be built by me, with a link to your shop.
Always a quote to fit
A webshop is always custom work, so I always make a quote to fit. The price depends on the number of products and variants, the payment methods, how you ship, whether you want to track stock and whether any links are needed. For an idea of the amounts, read how much a website costs.
The webshop works with every package and you can also add it later, once your site is live. You pay half at the start and half at delivery. The packages and other add-ons are on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions
What does a webshop cost?
That depends on what you want to sell and how. That's why I always make a quote to fit for a webshop. On top of that, you pay transaction fees to the payment provider.
Which payment methods can I offer?
iDEAL and other methods the payment provider offers, such as credit cards. We decide together which ones you offer.
Can I change products and prices myself?
With your own content editor, yes. Without one, I do it for you: one small change a month is included in Hosting, and for more there's Care, or I charge €95 per hour.
Who handles shipping and returns?
You do. I build the shop and the payments. Shipping, returns and customer service are yours.
Can I add a webshop later?
Yes. The webshop works with every package and you can also add it once your site is live.
